Tata Motors, Jamshedpur: Piling, Civil Works and I&C for 5.5 MW Solar
Piling and civil works for the 5.5 MW solar plant at Tata Motors in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
About the Tata Motors, Jamshedpur project
Tata Power issued Arrays Ingenieria the work order on 27 July 2023 for piling and civil work for the 5.5 MW plant at Tata Motors, Jamshedpur. The scope included a pre-cast boundary wall around the plant.
Further orders followed through 2023 and 2024: land development, pull-out tests on the piles, gate fabrication, a temporary water supply, liaison with government offices and, from December 2023, the installation & commissioning of the 5.579 MWp plant at Jojobera Yard together with its module cleaning system.
Our scope of work
- Pile foundations (300 mm dia, 1.8 m deep) and pull-out tests
- Land development and a pre-cast boundary wall
- Installation & commissioning of the 5.579 MWp plant at Jojobera Yard
- Module cleaning system
- Gate fabrication, temporary water supply and statutory liaison

Challenges and How We Handled Them
A complete site package
From land development and the boundary wall to piling, installation and liaison, almost every site trade on this plant was in our hands.
Proving the piles
Pull-out tests confirmed that the piles would hold the structures against wind uplift before installation began.
Inside an industrial yard
Working within Tata Motors' Jojobera Yard meant strict access, safety and housekeeping rules throughout.
